What is Federal Way WA like?

I am moving there from Chicago and was just wondering what this small town is like? It seemed like they had a lot of thefts and burglaries for a small town with under 100,000 people (Am I going to have to start packing?). Do these people actually put ketchup on their hot dogs?????? Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
