Any surgeons/doctors around...question bout salivary gland infection?

Last year my boyfriend developed a cyst sort of thing on his salivary gland. It was continuously exploding and his consultant told him the chemicals it released would be bad for me if he performed . Since then he has had the cyst surgically removed and it practically healed. However about a month after his operation he began to suffer from blood blisters in one of his salivary glands. He has been told that this gland may hav 2 be removed and including waiting list, healing time etc this will take over 6 months. The question i'm asking is whether because this is a different problem, and he has to deliberately 'explode' the blood blister, can he perform oral ? His consultant hasnt told him either way and neither of us can see how this new problem would affect me.
