What are the risks of untreated hypothyroidism?

I'm not sure if I am simply paranoid or not, but I figured I would ask the crowd. All of my fathers siblings and my father had hypothyroidism. My sister and my brother also both have hypothyroidism. I have never been tested, but I am worried I have symptoms of it. For instance when it is cold outside I am normally freezing. When I get out of cold environments it also takes hours for me to get the chill out of my system. I also have an inability to lose weight, I am not fat by any means because I am in the military and workout for hours a day, but I for the amount that I exercise I also never lose weight to a certain point. There are other more subtle issues such as exhaustion even when I sleep enough muscle weakness and pain for no reason that I typically chalk up to something different. In blood tests I have also been told that my LFT is higher than it should be, but I don't drink at all or take any medications that would cause this. Is there enough that would make you believe I need to be checked?
