Question about Economic Stimulus Payment (i.e. tax check)?

You can't change the account # now with the IRS and get direct deposit. You could keep the account open until May when the stimulus payment gets deposited. Otherwise the IRS will send the payment to your account, the bank will bounce it back to them, then the IRS will send you a paper check.
